The International has accused the Philippine police of "systematically planning
" extrajudicial killing in the controversial war against drugs.
Thousands have been killed since President Rodrigo Duterte launched his controversial war on drugs in 2016.
The campaign, aimed at wiping out the drug trade, has attracted intense international criticism over the number of deaths. Pres. Duterte has in the past sanctioned extrajudicial killings.
The record number of killings is a reminder that President Duterte's war on drugs is far from over.It is a strongly worded public address he warned drug users that he would hound them to the "gates of hell."
In spite of this stories about extra-judicial killings, People's in the Philippines support the war on drugs.
Rights groups have accused Philippine police of planning extrajudicial killings and in some cases profiting from them. Police have maintained that the suspects are killed when they offer armed resistance to police, a claim that has been highly disputed and some also said in a report that the killings may constitute "crimes against humanity".
It is more than 7,000 have been killed since President Rodrigo Duterte launched his "war" on the drug trade.He has always defended the crackdown, saying police were only authorized to open fire when threatened by suspects.
Mayor Duterte admitted that the police is "corrupt to the core" he suspended the campaign and promising to "clean up" the police, and the drug war with all anti-drug units to dissolved and ordered to re-organize the units and their ranks.
